The first ever Modern Lamp Design Contest 2014 was organized to demonstrate the potential of LED technologies in the design of contemporary and attractive luminaries and lighting design systems. Designs are intended for residential as well as commercial use. The goal of the competition was to support and develop student creativity and knowledge. The winning team was from INDA, with team members Phawin Siripong, Khanachai Kittisorayut, and Thanakrit Navanugraha. The winners, who received 40,000 THB and a trip to Hong Kong’s International Lighting Fair 2014, designed ‘Pamp’. The goal is “to bridge the gap between the design of a flash light and a fixed lamp.
